It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our school website. I am truly honoured to hold the position of principal here at Koo Wee Rup Primary School. I welcome all visitors to our school website, including all of our current families and also any potential future families.
Our school vision is what drives our school in everything we do. It is the lens we put all of our decisions and actions through to ensure we are staying on course with what we are endeavouring to achieve. “We collectively commit to creating an inclusive environment where all students will achieve high levels of learning. We will be relentless in our collaborative efforts to meet all of the needs of our students. We will create a safe, positive and harmonious environment where students feel connected. Students will understand their learning path and be self-directed and motivated learners. We will promote and instil positive values in our students as they become learners with a growth mindset.” Koo Wee Rup Primary School is a Professional Learning Community where our passion and focus is always student learning. Our school motto of ‘Together We Learn’ is lived through the daily practice of our school community. Learning is ongoing and a lifelong experience for students, teachers, parents and the wider community. We are very fortunate to have such wonderful, spacious grounds and facilities here at Koo Wee Rup Primary School. Our grounds allow for students to play and socialise with their peers in a range of engaging activities and environments. At the end of 2022 we opened our brand new Grade 1/2 learning environment. This new facility provides a contemporary learning space for our students. We support individual learning styles through flexible and modern furniture arrangement. In 2022 we began the roll-out of a 1:1 Chromebook computer program with all students in Grade 1 and 2 receiving thier own device. Each year, students receive their own computer when they transition to Grade 1. By 2026 we will be a 1:1 device school for all students in Grades 1 to 6. In 2023 we are excited to have construction of our competition grade gymnasium begin. Our school library will also be completed in 2023, which will be a terrific addition to our school facilities. The last two years have seen our school undertake significant work in order to strengthen our teaching and learning practices. I encourage you to take the time to explore our e5 instructional model for teaching, which can be located elsewhere on the website. We are incredibly proud of this work and the consistency of practice across all classrooms in our school. We are extremely proud of our history as a school and also of the positive engaging learning environment we have created today. I welcome anyone interested in learning more about our wonderful school first-hand to contact the school to arrange a personalised tour with myself. We would love to have you join our school community. |
