It's not okay to be away!
At Koo Wee Rup Primary School, we strive to ensure that children are at school every day to maximise their academic outcomes. Regular attendance at school is essential for not only your child’s academic outcomes, but also their social and emotional development. In order to support students and families, attendance is monitored weekly, with support provided to families when it is needed. The school day at Koo Wee Rup Primary School begins with Reconnection at 8:45 with the learning for the day beginning at 8:55. Reconnection time links directly to our work with The Berry Street Education Model and helps set students up for their school day.
Reconnection time is an opportunity for children to speak with friends, engage with their teacher and join in games that help to further strengthen their relationships and connectedness to school.
Below is a graphic that outlines the potential impacts on a child when they are missing days from school. It is surprising the impact having a day off here and there can have on a child throughout the year.
